Judicial Protection at European Level Seminar

The narrow scope of standing for private parties before the EU courts under the case law on Article 263 (4) TFEU (ex Article 230 (4) TEC) has long been debated and criticized. The somewhat revised Treaty text post Lisbon might indicate new openings for private parties. The seminar will look into the present state of the law and in what types of situations proceedings can be instituted before the EU courts. The seminar will also discuss whether there is sufficient legal protection offered in this important area or is there a need for further reform.
